Douglas MacFarlane, CPWA®, AAMS®
Director
Throughout his 29-year career, Doug has worked primarily with individuals, families, small business and non-profit organizations. His philosophy is to deliver comprehensive and innovative solutions through an integrated team of specialists to help achieve his clients’ legacy and wealth management goals.
Doug has an associate’s degree in Business Administration from the College of San Mateo, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from San Francisco State University. He is designated as an Accredited Asset Management SpecialistSM. In 2012, Doug earned a Certified Private Wealth Advisor®SM designation [CPWA®] from the Investment Management Consultants Association through the University of Chicago Booth School.
Doug is active in his community, currently serving on the boards of the Biletnikoff Foundation and Child Advocates of Placer County.
Away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. In addition to many family activities, Doug is a San Francisco Giants fan and also enjoys football, softball, golf and travel.

Kayji Arai
Financial Advisor
Kayji Arai joined Baird in October 2019 and has since completed both the PWM Foundations Program and the Financial Advisor Training Program. In January 2022, he began his career as a Financial Advisor, partnering with Doug MacFarlane and Sunny Gill. Kayji is an alumnus of the University of California, Davis, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Managerial Economics with a business emphasis and a minor in Accounting.
Kayji and his team serve a diverse clientele, including individuals, families, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. Their approach to wealth management is holistic, integrating comprehensive financial, estate and tax planning to address all aspects of their clients' financial lives. The team is committed to understanding each client's unique needs and objectives, ensuring that their goals drive every investment strategy they develop. Kayji and his colleagues educate their clients about their investment options, empowering them to make informed decisions. By providing innovative and personalized solutions, they aim to build long-term relationships based on trust and mutual success.
Outside of the office, Kayji has a passion for sports and the culinary arts. He enjoys playing golf, basketball, and football, and he treasures the time he spends with family and friends. Growing up in a family restaurant, Mikuni, he developed a deep appreciation for food. This background instilled in him a love for both trying new dishes and experimenting in the kitchen to create his own culinary delights. Kayji's enthusiasm for food and cooking not only brings joy to his personal life but also reflects his creative and dedicated approach to his professional work.

Sunny Gill
Senior Client Specialist
Sunny started her career in the financial services industry in 2007 and leads the team’s operations.
She is Series 7 and 66 licensed. Sunny has worked alongside Doug MacFarlane since 2010 servicing valued clients with utmost level of professionalism.
She manages a range of client relationship services, from responding to simple account queries to processing trades and handling complex transactions.
She is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance.
Away from the office, Sunny enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
